Background Information:
Monika Lambert is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with BS in Education focusing on Theatre Arts and Educational Technology. She grew up in a small rural town in south western Pennsylvania, then moved to Maryland after graduating from college. She taught music at The Goddard School and gave private instrumental lessons to a variety of students. While in Maryland, Monika played with two different bands, keyboards with The Rockabilly Blues Band and lead vocals/keys with Shark Sandwich. She also was a stand-in bass player for a variety of other groups. During her last year in Maryland, Monika worked at a private Episcopalian-Lutheran school in Frederick, teaching 5th grade Math and Science. She was also the Director of Middle School Technology developing the word-processing and internet safety curriculum still being used today at that school. Monika is currently teaching at West Harpeth Christian Tutorial, and she teaches 6-8th Creative Writing, 6th Science, 6-12th Technology, and High School Music Ensemble (Choir and Rhythm Percussion). Monika has been classically trained in ballet, jazz, and tap. She further pursued rhythm tap as well as hip-hop and swing dancing. She has been a dancer for 27 years and has taught for the past 13 years.
Since moving to Nashville in 2010, she has pursued her music career by playing bass, keyboards, synths, and being a lead vocalist for a variety of local bands including MortalRising, Blankets & Bedsheets, and The Fall Betweens. She also plays accordion, guitar, clarinet, flute, mandolin, ukulele, and percussion. Monika loves to act, sing, paint, and play music. She has been in numerous theatrical performances including Hairspray!, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Godspell, Annie, South Pacific, The Odd Couple, and Jesus Christ Superstar. |
She currently is in the recording studio (Lambo Studios) working on her first rock album under the name Monika Jean. She earned her Kindermusik Business Owner and Educator License in the winter of 2010, buying a franchise of one of the top early childhood music and movement education programs in the world. In 2011, she opened her small jewelry business called Wearable Relics, creating fun and affordable, one-of-a-kind recipes of necklaces, bracelets, and earring sets. In 2012, she received her Grumbacher Fine Arts Instructor certificate through Chart-Pak. She also obtained her Acting and Modeling Instructor license in TN and KY through John Casablancas. Monika was also named 2011-2012 Teacher-of-the-Year. She is very proud of this great accomplishment. In January 2015, she released her newest product: Potato-Babies, customizable handmade aromatherapy dolls. In 2018, Monika became a doTerra Wellness Consultant to further her knowledge on essential oils and aromatherapy for her doll company. She also earned her Google G-Suite Certification and CK-12 Certified Educator badge.
During the summer of 2022, Monika became one of the first educators in TN to earn micro-credentials in Computer Science through TSIN. She also is taking a course through the International Doula Institute to become a Certified Breastfeeding Councilor. |
